Audio Máquina
2024

Seemingly, the audio industry has relegated the typology of loudspeakers to portable and battery-powered products in recent times.

With this in mind, I explored the intersection of music, sound, and living spaces. The project identified three critical facets of modern audiophiles: a floor-oriented ambiance fostering intimacy, a preference for curated independent objects over massive furniture, and the significance of open living rooms complemented by soft qualities, such as carpets or rugs.

Somehow, it embodies a “Low Hi-Fi” situation.
Audio Máquina is a freestanding 360-degree set of speakers with an attached stereo amplifier. It can be placed and moved around the room like a vase or a member of a music band. The amplifier and drivers are cable-powered, in an attempt to avoid introducing more batteries into the home environment. Every piece in the product is completely dismountable for repair or proper recycling.
