swedish wood
Shangahi Bench2017
This bench was originally designed for the collection “Design in Pine”, an initiative by Swedish Wood (Svenskt Trä) organization, which aims to promote swedish pine in the Chinese market and manufacture.

One of the cultural shocks I experienced when I moved to Sweden was that, in America, we are not accustomed to removing our shoes when entering a home. For some reason, this concept greatly appealed to me and became the starting point for developing this piece of furniture. I believe that sometimes something as noble and simple as an ordinary action can be translated into design.
The fabrication was developed by the Cabinet Maker Gustav Larsson.

Lastly the full collection was exhibited at the China International Furniture Fair (CIFF) Shanghai.
