The New Final Form
2023
     The starting point for this light switch was to take advantage of the mechanical properties of technical ceramics, specifically applied to self-lubricating elements like ceramic bearings. Through a simple gesture of rotation, a dimming effect is achieved.

    The final form reveals the bearing—a traditionally hidden component—and makes it obvious.

    Born in 1992 in Guadalajara, Mexico, Eduardo Altamirano is an industrial designer working between academia and industry. He holds a BA in Industrial Design and completed studies in Furniture Design in Stockholm before earning an MA in Product Design with Excellent Mention from ECAL, Lausanne (2024). His diploma project was awarded the Pierre Keller Foundation Prix.
