Radial
2025
Radial is a tape dispenser developed with the intention of reducing the object to its minimal expression: a practical, portable, and essential element. Made of aluminum, it consists of two pieces that embrace the tape and allow it to rotate around a central axis. The cutting blade is resolved through a simple folded metal sheet, revealing a direct and honest constructive logic.

The finish of the central body emerges from a material exploration: how color can be generated through geometry itself. By machining the aluminum in a stepped sequence, the surface reflects light differently, creating a tonal gradient that depends not on pigments, but on the relationship between form and light.
This project was developed by A+A, a collaboration between Eduardo Altamirano and Miguel Arjona. It was part of Cinta (Tape), a group show organized by Decode Mx during the Cuadrante cultural fair at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Monterrey (MARCO). The exhibition gathered over eighty creatives, all invited to reimagine the tape dispenser, with proceeds from the auction of the works benefiting the museum.
